Gail was an amazing woman and we who knew her were blessed beyond words. This community has grown and will forever be changed because of her ability to not just dream but to actually make things happen. Idle, is never a word that comes to mind when thinking about Gail Deschamps. It was her goal to create the Rome Shakespeare Festival and to make a positive economic impact on our community. I believe she achieved this goal. COVID has been tough but with the love and continued financial support from this community, the Rome Shakespeare membership and our Board of Directors, we can see her legacy continue. ​
